Welcome to Mind Body Midlothian!
Welcome! Thank you for booking your space in a class with us, we’re excited that you’re here.
We’ve popped a few helpful points below and some of our frequently asked questions, to make sure you know everything you need to before coming along. You can refer back to this page at any time you need to, or if you have a question not listed below, please drop us an email via firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a text/call on 07548343699. Our office hours are 9.30am-2.30pm weekdays and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
When does my class/block start?
Our classes are all run in set blocks, you will find details of your block in your confirmation email from our booking system Bookwhen. If you haven’t received this email or can’t find us, drop us an email via email@example.com or text/call on 07548343699 and we can confirm this for you.
Where is my class held?
All of our classes are held in our friendly Bonnyrigg studio. Our address is:
Dalhousie Wellness Hub,
Dalhousie Business Centre,
Dalhousie Business Park,
When you turn into the business park, the wellness hub is the brown brick building immediately on the left. Our entrance is at the front of the building.
Where can I park?
As we are in a business park, parking can get busy sometimes, particularly during the day.
If you’re coming to a class in the daytime, please be mindful not to park in spaces reserved for other businesses. There is on street parking available when you first turn into the business park, further into the business park, and also on street on Carrington Road.
In the evenings there is a lot more flexibility as most of the other businesses are closed. However, there are two spaces directly opposite our entrance door which are off limits, there is a sign stating that access is required to these spaces 24hours and we politely ask that all clients respect this.
Do I need to complete a health form before coming to class?
Yes! We require all clients to complete a health history form before attending our classes. This is so we know if any modifications are required to keep you safe whilst in class with us.
These forms are emailed directly to you from our Client Management System – Cliniko. This is a secure system which sends you a unique link to your form. Any information collected on these forms is only shared with your class teacher on a need-to-know basis. Our priority is ensuring you are safe in our class.
What do I wear?
Wear clothes that are easy to move and stretch in. Whether this is Yoga leggings or a pair of old joggers, it doesn’t matter! For us, the most important thing is that you’re comfortable.
Layers will be your friend, so wear a hoody or jumper that can be easily removed, or popped back on as needed.
Feet can either be bare or you can wear socks if you wish. If you’re coming to practice Yoga with us and prefer to wear socks, opt for the ones with sticky bits on the bottom.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring along a mat. It doesn’t need to be an expensive one, but you might want to get one with a little more padding for comfort. Usually mats are measured in thickness, we’d recommend ones around 6mm or 8mm.
For most of our classes we’d also recommend bringing along a Yoga block, or Yoga brick. For our Yoga classes, we’d also recommend a Yoga strap and a blanket. These don’t need to be fancy ones, any blanket from your house would do. Some people prefer to just pop a jumper over them instead.
If you don’t have these items, or forget them one night we do have studio ones available to use within the class – so please don’t worry.
What are the current COVID protocols?
As with most businesses at the moment, we ask that you wear a face mask/covering when entering the building. This can be removed once you’re at your practice space, then reapplied on exiting.
We have hand sanitising stations at the studio door for you, and hand sanitiser pumps within the room too.
Physicial distancing rules seem to be changing regularly, however we have taken the decision to maintain this within our studio. Mat spaces are helpfully marked out on the floor, ensuring there is a minimum distance of 1.5m between them.
Our windows will remain open during the class for ventilation, but don’t worry.. in the winter months we’ll have the heaters up too.
Our classes run for 55mins with a 5 min change over time. To ensure a smooth flow for everyone, we ask that at the end of the class you do not congregate in the hallway to chat. As much as we hate asking this (we know a big aspect of our classes is the social side of things!) this allows for the next class to enter the building without the hallway getting too crowded.
For the same reason, we please ask that you do not enter the building until it is time for your class, please stay warm in your car until then.
What happens after my block?
During each of our blocks we build on what has already been taught. Part of the reason we only book in blocks is that we know finding the mind and body connection can take some time and practice.
This is especially true with our Pilates classes, it takes time to truly achieve a core connection and so it may feel like you’re working on concentration more than anything for a bit.
Once you’re with us you have priority booking for the next block, meaning that you’re not going to have to worry about losing your space.
We email everyone in each class around week 4 of the block, with the priority booking details for the next block.
If you decide that the class isnt for you, that’s no problem at all, just let us know you won’t be continuing and we’ll offer the space to our waiting list.
Again, thank you for booking your space in a class with us, we’re so excited that you’re here.
