About Mind Body Midlothian

Mind Body Midlothian was founded in 2019 by Becky Robertson. Following the success of her former business Pilates with Becky and demand for more classes, Becky began to build a small team of Pilates teachers in Midlothian. Additionally, adding in her Yoga teacher training qualification and Yoga classes to the timetable, Pilates with Becky needed a rebrand… and so Mind Body Midlothian was born. 

Mind Body Midlothian offers Pilates and Yoga classes across the Midlothian area. With a focus on the mind-body element of exercise and the benefits this brings, classes are gentle, relaxed and welcoming.


About Becky

Becky Robertson

Hello! I’m Becky and I  began working in the fitness industry over 10 years ago and was inspired to train as a Pilates teacher after seeing the difference Pilates makes to people.
As a mum of two young kids I understand the importance of creating you-time in the busy muddle of life. Before having my baby daughter my day job was sitting at a desk in an office… where there wasn’t much movement. This showed me first hand the difficulties and issues brought about by leading a sedentary work life. I love the freedom teaching Pilates & Yoga has given me and I am so excited to share these styles of movement with you and hope you feel the benefits as much as I do.

I am continually learning and attending workshops and courses to further my knowledge and career. Recently I added an Assessor qualification, allowing me to work with training schools for those working towards a career in the fitness industry.
I absolutely love working with beginners and seeing the progress and achievements my clients make… no matter how small they are. If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch, even just for a chat!

About Susan

Susan Kydd

Hello! I’m Susan and I started Pilates 5 years ago to help with chronic back pain that I’d had for many years due to bad posture at work. After only a few classes I was able to feel the improvements Pilates was making to my day to day life, from pain relief to better posture, sleeping better and generally feeling much more positive.

Experiencing these benefits first hand is what has inspired me to train as a Pilates instructor so that I can help others in similar situations. Joint and muscle pain isn’t something we have to live with, it can be improved with Pilates.


About Kate

Kate Macdonald

Hello! I’m Kate and I qualified as a registered Nurse over 30 years ago. I have worked in several specialities but most recently cancer services across the South East of Scotland. I completed a teacher training course in 1990 and have taught Pilates for coming up for 3 years.

I started out as a client of Realistic Pilates in 2007 and found the teaching style made a significant impact on my health and wellbeing, so much so that I was inspired to train as a teacher with the EnergyWise Academy in 2016.

I have continued to update my fitness education and keep my knowledge current by attending continuing professional development training days at the EnergyWise Academy, Queen Margaret University and most recently completed my yoga teacher qualification through QMU.

I make sure the classes I instruct are safe, achievable, realistic and enjoyable.

Jenny

Hello! I’m Jenny and I have worked as a PE teacher for more than 20 years and taught Pilates for coming up 3 years.

Having had personal experience of how Pilates, specifically realistic Pilates, can positively impact health and well being was what inspired me to train as a Pilates teacher.
I continue to develop my knowledge by attending professional development sessions and have recently completed my 200hr Level 3 Yoga teacher training, with The EnergyWise Academy at Queen Margaret University.
My priorities when teaching is to keep you safe, working and make sure you are enjoying your class.
